About Us

We are passionate about serving families and enabling them to practice a lifelong rhythm of spiritual growth. We feel honored to come alongside parents as their children are shown how and inspired to live out their lives with Christ.

We serve families by providing parents and kids with great resources that take advantage of the spiritual rhythms we already have throughout our day.

Sundays

On Sunday mornings, our church offers classes designed for kids 3 months through 5th grade. Each environment is a safe, experiential place to learn more about God and have fun while doing so! To read more information about each class, click on the age level tabs. If you’re new, look for our Family Ministry check-in banner in the outside corridor. At check-in, we will get your family registered then show you around our kids’ spaces.

Congratulations on your new baby or growing toddler! When you drop off your infant or toddler with us on a Sunday morning, you can expect that they will be cared for by one of our trained and screened volunteers who love God and babies! They will spend the hour looking after your child’s needs, playing and then praying for each child’s family.
Preschoolers live in a world of discovery. Everything is new and exciting! Sunday morning classes are designed with that in mind. Our time together will be full of engaging,  hands-on activities, interactive Bible stories and fun games where they can discover three basic truths- God made me, God loves me and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Elementary school is a perfect time for kids to learn how the Bible fits into their lives, learn how to talk to Him and how to build great friendships with others. Sunday mornings are designed to inspire kids in their walk with God and help them grow in Christ.

Sunday morning classes begin with a fun activity that is designed to grab their attention and introduce a key truth. Then, we teach a Bible story, using props and characters from the story to help make the story come to life.  After our Bible story, kids break in to small groups to do an activity, talk about what they’ve learned that day and how it applies to their daily life.

4th & 5th graders are beginning a time in their life where they think “I’ve got this!”, friends are more important than ever, and their spiritual lives become more personal to them.

With those things in mind, we have created an environment just for them on Sunday mornings. Our pre-teen class is designed to help students connect the dots between God’s character and Jesus’ love for them; as well as the importance of regular rhythms of serving others and gathering in community with Godly friends to process our faith.

Our Sunday morning class begins with a fun activity or game that is designed to introduce the Bible story.  Next, we dive into one of the many great stories in the Bible. Then, after the Bible story, we transition to a small group time to apply what we just heard to our daily lives. There’s also an option to serve in one of preschool classes one Sunday a month as a volunteer.

The Park is a community full of people who love teenagers! While we continue to grow as a church community, we won’t provide each ministry setting for teens within our church or on Sunday mornings. We have built great connections to several youth- focused ministries in our city. We would love to introduce you and help you get involved with them.

There are three key spiritual rhythms for teenagers that are important to their growing relationship with Christ:

Missional Community – Every teenager needs to be in missional community with their peers. Missional communities are a consistent, small group of peers where they can process scripture, dive deeper in their faith and be held accountable in their walk with Christ. Spiritual growth happens when we live life with others in a transparent, real way, every day.  If you need help finding a missional community, let us know and we would love to help connect you to some great groups that exist in our city or help you start a group of your own.

Multi-Generational Worship – Teenagers need to regularly attend a multi-generational worship service. Sunday morning worship gatherings are a great way to grow spiritually with others, older and younger, by taking time to process the message with those that God has placed around you.

Serve – One of the best ways to grow in your spiritual walk, as a teenager, is to serve those around you. The passion of our church is to see God renew our city. Serving others by volunteering your time to repair a home, lead a group of younger kids in bible study or mowing your neighbors lawn with friends, are all ways God uses the world around us to impact our relationship with Christ and renew our city at the same time.

Volunteers

The Park’s Family Ministry volunteers love God and are serious about having fun with kids! Get to know them and see for yourself what special people they are to our kids AND our ministry. Each volunteer is screened, background checked, and trained for the class and age group they serve in. If you are interested in serving with us on a Sunday morning – sign up here or contact us at families@theparksa.org

Resources & Curriculum

Curriculum – We use an online curriculum called First Look and 252 Basics for each of our Sunday morning classes. They are amazing, vetted, engaging web-based curriculums created by the ReThink group for Preschool and K-5th graders.  To learn more go to their website at www.rethinkgroup.org

Parent Resources  – Each month, we want to equip parents with easy to use tools that help you create or continue spiritual rhythms in your home. We provide a monthly info sheet that includes the Bible stories we will teach on Sundays, our memory verse for the month and ideas for activities to take advantage of the moments already in your day. In addition, our older kids will also receive weekly worksheets that include four different devotionals to further the lesson and virtue we talked about on Sunday. They are fun to do on their own or as a family!

1st Time Visitor

We look forward to meeting you on a Sunday morning! Look for our check in banners as you walk up.  At check in, we will get your family registered then show you around our kids’ spaces. If we can be of any help prior to your visit, please contact us at families@theparksa.org

Kids Dedication & Baptism

Kids Dedication – No one has more influence on children than parents! Twice a year families have the opportunity to dedicate their children to God during a kid’s dedication service. The service is part of our Sunday morning worship time and it is not infant baptism. Our kid’s dedication is a special time for parents to commit in leading their child into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is also a time for our church community to surround and affirm parents in their commitment to raise their children in a Godly home.

Kids Baptism – As the priest of your home, and your child’s spiritual walk,  you are best equipped to decide when the moment is right for your child to be baptized. We are happy to provide resources to help guide your decision, and your child’s understanding on Baptism. Once you have made the choice, you are welcome to sign up your child at one of our church.
